Scented Geranium- Rose
Pelargonium graveolens Rose.
Graveolens means heavily scented and refers to the deep traditional rose scent. Imported to England in the 17th century from South Africa, it was found to yield an inexpensive substitute for Attar of Roses in the perfume industry. Since that time is has been grown commercially. Today we find these scents being used in aroma therapy. This variety has deeply cut heartshaped leaves and orchid flowers that are deeply veined.
